Focus on Southern Nevada
October 11, 2020

Held in conjunction with TED Countdown, a worldwide movement to foster a rapid shift to a world with net zero greenhouse emissions and tackle the climate crisis.

Continuing the TEDx Legacy in Southern Nevada

The team that brought TEDxUNLV to southern Nevada in 2016 and 2018 later brought TEDxHenderson to the community.

The theme was “Focus on Southern Nevada,” with six speakers addressing the unique energy needs and solutions created by the region’s hot, arid climate. Attendees enjoyed entertainment and participated in “conversation starters” during the breakout session at the end.

The event took place virtually on Facebook on Sunday, October 11, starting at 2 pm. It was a FREE event!

Ideas Worth Spreading

About TED/TEDx, x = independently organized event. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized, subject to certain rules and regulations.
