Neighborhood Bookshelf: Seis Puentes

North Little Rock, Arkansas

Welcome to Our First Neighborhood Bookshelf

Our first Neighborhood Bookshelf is hosted at Seis Puentes in North Little Rock. It is currently inside and available when the Center is open. Soon it will move outside to the front of the building. The shelf is already stocked with books for readers of every age, level, and interest.

What You Will Find

  • Picture books, chapter books, and adult titles

  • A mix of fiction and nonfiction

  • Surprises like coloring books, stickers, pencils, and small craft packs

  • A postcard that features the bookshelf art

A Closer Look at the Art

Each Neighborhood Bookshelf is more than a place for books; it is a small work of public art that captures the imagination and character of its community. Every color, brushstroke, and design element tells a story about the people who live nearby and the artists who bring these projects to life. The gallery below highlights the creativity, craftsmanship, and heart that make every Books4U bookshelf a unique celebration of reading and community pride.

About the Art

The artwork on this Neighborhood Bookshelf is a collaboration by Dedicated Visual Art Studio owners Jose Hernandez and Syd Carmichael.

“We wanted to create a surreal dream-like feeling that touches on immigration. It shows the dreams, hopes, and struggles of leaving a world and searching for a better one. The inside of the library is a place where many worlds fit together. It is a cloud dream state where anything is possible, like in our dreams where all is being looked after by the moon slash rabbit in the sky. Like us as humans, in every book there is a different world, and like Seis Puentes, this little library houses many worlds.”
