Neighborhood Bookshelves

Books4U! PCE Central Arkansas

Building a Culture of Reading Together

Books4U creates welcoming places where reading is easy, joyful, and shared. Each Neighborhood Bookshelf brings free books into the heart of a community and invites every reader to explore.

Every shelf is painted by local artists and stocked for all ages and reading levels. You will also find small surprises like coloring pages, bookmarks, and craft kits. Volunteers and partners keep shelves tidy and refreshed across Central Arkansas.

Take a book, leave a book, share a book.

Explore Our Neighborhood Bookshelves

From local parks to schools and community centers, Books4U! Neighborhood Bookshelves are springing up across Central Arkansas. Each one has its own story, design, and community spirit—brought to life by local artists and filled with books for every reader. These small but powerful libraries are at the heart of our mission to make reading accessible, joyful, and shared.

Seis Puentes (North Little Rock)

The first Neighborhood Bookshelf at Seis Puentes features artwork by Dedicated Visual Art Studio. It symbolizes dreams and hope, and offers free books for every reader who needs one.

Plaza Frida (West 65th Street)

The second Neighborhood Bookshelf at Plaza Frida sits by the soccer field entrance. Painted by Emily Rebecca Kelly, it welcomes families with bright colors and joyful design.

Mabelvale Elementary School

The third Neighborhood Bookshelf at Mabelvale Elementary supports students and families. It celebrates learning and imagination, and is restocked often with community donations.

Providence Park (North Little Rock)

The fourth Neighborhood Bookshelf at Providence Park is a restored Blessing Box, painted by a local artist. It reflects the calm of the park and welcomes new readers.
